TL;DR: In this article, the effect of penetrating photon ionising radiation on bovine pericardium tissue was investigated, with only a weak indication of an increase in the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) with increase in radiation dose.

TL;DR: In this paper, structural and biomechanical properties of pericardium were investigated for exposure to penetrating photon irradiation in the context of radiotherapy, and it was found that the fibre width increased by 34±9% at 80. Gy when compared with that for un-irradiated samples.
