TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed an analogous study with alpha-particles at comparable dose rates, and found that alpha was substantially more effective than gamma-rays, both for cell inactivation and for neoplastic transformation at high and low dose rates.

Intrathoracic Spindle Cell Lipoma Causing Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
TL;DR: A 56-year-old male presented with three years of worsening right arm pain and paresthesias consistent with thoracic outlet syndrome as discussed by the authors , and the Brachial plexus MRI demonstrated a giant extrapleural lipoma in the right supraclavicular fossa extending within the ipsilateral posterior mediastinum and compressing the neurovascular bundle.
