TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the asymmetry is related to direct (non-diffusive) losses of charged particles from the confinement volume, and this conclusion was validated by numerical modelling of thermal and fast particle orbits in U-3M.

TL;DR: In this article, the vertical asymmetry of divertoron flow in U-3M was investigated under neutral beam injection and electron cyclotron heating conditions, and it was shown that the asymmetry is related to the non-uniformity of the distribution of direct charged particle losses in the minor azimuth.
