Morphological and genetic study of Prorocentrum donghaiense Lu from the East China Sea, and comparison with some related Prorocentrum species
TL;DR: It is suggested that the high-biomass bloom-forming species in the East China Sea, previously reported as Prorocentrum dentatum Stein, is P donghaiense Lu, and the species reported from the EastChina Sea and Japanese and Korean waters appear to be the same species.

An overview of Prorocentrum donghaiense blooms in China: Species identification, occurrences, ecological consequences, and factors regulating prevalence.
TL;DR: Prorocentrum donghaiense Lu as mentioned in this paper is a bloom-forming dinoflagellate species distributed worldwide, and bloom succession patterns were closely correlated with changes in environmental factors, such as temperature increase and anthropogenic eutrophication.

Redescription of Prorocentrum donghaiense Lu and comparison with relevant Prorocentrum species
TL;DR: The results suggested that distinct differences existed among Prorocentrum species with respect to their conservative characteristics of morphology and cell sizes, far beyond that of individual variations within same species due to environmental factors.

Species composition and ecological distribution of planktonic diatoms in the Changjiang River estuary during spring
TL;DR: Water samples were collected in typical regions where redtide frequently occurred in the Changjiang River estuary during Spring, 2002, and 80 diatom species and varieties belonging to 31 genera were identified, among which, genera with high species biodiversity included Coscinodiscus which contained 17 species and Pleurosigma which contained 8species and varieties.
