Postprandial hypoglycaemia after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and the effects of acarbose, sitagliptin, verapamil, liraglutide and pasireotide
Caroline C Øhrstrøm,Dorte Worm,Anna Højager,Ditte Caroline Andersen,Jens J. Holst,Urd Kielgast,Dorte Lindqvist Hansen +6 more
TL;DR: To investigate the effects of acarbose, sitagliptin, verapamil, liraglutide and pasireotide on post‐bariatric hypoglycaemia (PBH) after Roux‐en‐Y gastric bypass.

Genetic Determinants of Weight Loss After Bariatric Surgery
Martin Aasbrenn,Martin Aasbrenn,Theresia M. Schnurr,Christian Theil Have,Mathilde Svendstrup,Dorte Lindqvist Hansen,Dorte Worm,Marie Balslev-Harder,Mette Hollensted,Niels Grarup,Kristoffer Sølvsten Burgdorf,Henrik Vestergaard,Henrik Vestergaard,Oluf Pedersen,Thorkild I. A. Sørensen,Mogens Fenger,Sten Madsbad,Torben Hansen +17 more
TL;DR: A genetic risk score was associated with EBMIL after bariatric surgery, but may not yet be applicable to clinical practice as a result of searches among known adiposity-related single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs).

A Low Dose of Pasireotide Prevents Hypoglycemia in Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass-Operated Individuals
Caroline C Øhrstrøm,Dorte Lindqvist Hansen,Urd Kielgast,Bolette Hartmann,Jens J. Holst,Dorte Worm +5 more
TL;DR: Considering its strong hyperglycemic potential, it is suggested that pasireotide should be administered carefully in RYGB-operated individuals with PBH, and if necessary, a 75 μg dose seems sufficient to prevent hypoglycemia.

Evidence for Relationship Between Early Dumping and Postprandial Hypoglycemia After Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass
TL;DR: RYGB-operated individuals with PBH also have large early postprandial HR increases, hemoconcentration, and sympathetic activation, consistent with early dumping, suggesting a causal relationship between early dumping and PBH.

Genetic markers of abdominal obesity and weight loss after gastric bypass surgery.
Martin Aasbrenn,Mathilde Svendstrup,Mathilde Svendstrup,Theresia M. Schnurr,Dorte Lindqvist Hansen,Dorte Worm,Marie Balslev-Harder,Niels Grarup,Kristoffer Sølvsten Burgdorf,Henrik Vestergaard,Oluf Pedersen,Lars Ängquist,Mogens Fenger,Thorkild I. A. Sørensen,Sten Madsbad,Torben Hansen +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the association between updated genetic risk scores (GRSs) for adiposity measures and the rs1358980-T risk allele are linked with weight loss following gastric bypass surgery.
