Manipulation of the Open‐Circuit Voltage of Organic Solar Cells by Desymmetrization of the Structure of Acceptor–Donor–Acceptor Molecules
TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of acceptor-donor-acceptor (A-D-A) molecules based on a septithiophene chain with terminal electron acceptor groups is reported using a dicyanovinyl- (DCV) substituted molecule as reference.

Structure–properties relationships in conjugated molecules based on diketopyrrolopyrrole for organic photovoltaics
Emilie Ripaud,Dora Demeter,Theodulf Rousseau,Emmanuel Boucard-Cétol,Magali Allain,Riccardo Po,Philippe Leriche,Jean Roncali +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of composition of the side-chain on the electronic properties of the conjugated system have been analyzed on first series of compounds containing various combinations of benzofuran, benzothiophene, thiophene and furan units.

Small D–π–A Systems with o‐Phenylene‐Bridged Accepting Units as Active Materials for Organic Photovoltaics
Antoine Leliège,Jérémie Grolleau,Magali Allain,Philippe Blanchard,Dora Demeter,Theodulf Rousseau,Jean Roncali +6 more
TL;DR: Donor-acceptor (D-π-A) systems that combine triarylamine donor blocks and dicyanovinyl (DCV) acceptor groups have been synthesized and the relationships between the electronic properties of the donors and the performance of the corresponding photovoltaic devices are discussed.
76
Synthesis and metal cation complexing properties of crown-annelated terthiophenes containing 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene.
TL;DR: These various experiments provide consistent results showing that one of the compounds exhibits interesting complexing properties for Pb2+.

Tuning of the Photovoltaic Parameters of Molecular Donors by Covalent Bridging
Dora Demeter,Victorien Jeux,Philippe Leriche,Philippe Blanchard,Yoann Olivier,Jérôme Cornil,Riccardo Po,Jean Roncali +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of donor-acceptor molecules involving triarylamines and dicyanovinyl blocks is described, and it is shown that rigidification of the acceptor part of the molecule by a covalent bridge leads to a 0.20 eV increase in the band gap due to a parallel increase of the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital level.
