HMEJ-mediated efficient site-specific gene integration in chicken cells
Long Xie,Juanjuan Sun,Lifen Mo,Tianpeng Xu,Qaisar Shahzad,Dongyang Chen,Wenhao Yang,Yuying Liao,Y. Q. Lu +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that HMEJ efficiently mediates site-specific gene integration in chicken PGCs, which holds great potential for the biopharmaceutical engineering of chicken cells.
Promoter structures and differential responses to viral and non-viral inducers of chicken melanoma differentiation-associated gene 5
Zhang Wenxin,Erwei Zuo,Ying He,Dongyang Chen,Xie Long,Mei-Juan Chen,Li Tingting,Xiaogan Yang,Huiyan Xu,Sheng-Sheng Lu,Ming Zhang,Kehuan Lu,Yangqing Lu +12 more
TL;DR: The results indicated that the promoter and the Piggybac-MDA5-DsRed cell line could be utilized to determine whether a ligand regulates MDA5 expression, and provides a tool for testing chMda5 expression and regulation.

GSK-3 signaling is involved in proliferation of chicken primordial germ cells.
Dongyang Chen,Mengmeng Yang,Long Xie,Zhenping Lu,Lifen Mo,Wenhao Yang,Juanjuan Sun,Huiyan Xu,Kehuan Lu,Yuying Liao,Yangqing Lu +10 more
TL;DR: It is found that CHIR regulates PGC cell cycle by activating Wnt signaling and antagonizing the apoptosis of PGCs by inhibition of the expression of caspase-3 and Beclin-1, and suggest that GSK-3 is involved in cell renewal and apoptosis in chicken P GCs.

Cholesterol induces proliferation of chicken primordial germ cells
Dongyang Chen,Mei-Juan Chen,Zhenping Lu,Mengmeng Yang,Long Xie,Zhang Wenxin,Huiyan Xu,Kehuan Lu,Yangqing Lu +8 more
TL;DR: The characterization of PGCs treated with cholesterol has shown that these cells express germ-cell-related markers and retain their capability to colonize the embryonic gonad after re-introduction to vasculature of stage-15 HH embryos, indicating that proliferation of P GCs induced by cholesterol does not alter the germ cell characteristics of these cells.

Effects of feeder cells on proliferation of inducible pluripotent stem cells in chicken.
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the effects of different types and treatments of feeder cells on the growth and proliferation of chicken inducible pluripotent stem cells (iPSC).
