The effects of data preprocessing in the determination of coagulant dosing rate
TL;DR: The results mean that the proper data preprocessing method can facilitate the ANN in formulating the latent structure and in removing real noises and measurement errors within the training data set.

Determination of optimal coagulant dosing rate using an artificial neural network
TL;DR: In this article, an artificial neural network (ANN) was used to predict the optimal coagulant dose in response to water quality changes, and the results indicated that the ANN reduced the prediction error for the training data by about 59% and for the raw data by 52%.
