Semi-automatic extraction of hyponymies and overlappings from heterogeneous database schemes
TL;DR: In this article, the problem of semi-automatically extracting hyponymy and overlapping properties between entities belong to pre-existing database schemes is tackled. And the proposed algorithm consists of two phases: the first one derives basic hyponymies and overlappings starting from a particular scenario; the second one takes in input basic properties derived by the first phase and extracts further, more general hyponyms.

A conceptual framework for community detection, characterisation and membership in a social internetworking scenario
TL;DR: A conceptual framework, and an underlying model, to handle community detection, characterisation and membership in a social internetworking scenario, and a further problem, i.e., user similarity detection is preliminarily investigated.

Daniel Leggio,Giuseppe Marra,Domenico Ursino +2 more
- 01 Jan 2014
TL;DR: This paper proposes TwitterRank, an evolution of PageRank that measures user influence by considering both the topics of interest for users and link structure and develops Influence Passivity, a graph-based approach, similar to the HITS algorithm, which assigns a relative influence and a passivity score to each user, based on the fraction of information forwarded by her.

- 01 Jan 2005
TL;DR: Un’importante caratteristica dell’approccio proposto è la sua capacità di poter essere integrato con quasi tutte le tecniche di clustering esistenti in letteratura.

A network analysis based approach to characterizing periodic sharp wave complexes in electroencephalograms of patients with sporadic CJD
Paolo LoLo Giudice,Domenico Ursino,Nadia Mammone,Francesco Carlo Morabito,Umberto Aguglia,Vittoria Cianci,Edoardo Ferlazzo,Sara Gasparini +7 more
TL;DR: A network analysis based approach to characterizing PSWCs in EEGs of patients with sCJD and shows that, analogously to what happens for other neurological diseases, network analysis can be successfully exploited to investigate sC JD.
