The crucial role of vascular permeability factor/vascular endothelial growth factor in angiogenesis: a historical review.
TL;DR: This review offers a historical account of the relevant literature concerning the discovery of one of the best characterized angiogenic factors, namely vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF/vascular permeability factor) and different strategies, designed to stimulate and to inhibit VEGF production, are discussed.

TL;DR: A large-scale metabolomic profile of human ccRCC was delineated and it was shown that silencing of NDUFA4L2 affects cell viability, increases mitochondrial mass, and induces ROS generation in hypoxia, as well as NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) 1 alpha subcomplex 4-like 2 (NDUFA 4L2) as the most highly expressed gene in renal cancer cells.
The chick embryo chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) assay
TL;DR: The chorioallantoic membrane is a relatively simple, quick, and low-cost model that allows screening of a large number of pharmacological samples in a short time; does not require administrative procedures for obtaining ethics committee approval for animal experimentation.

Endogenous inhibitors of angiogenesis: a historical review.
TL;DR: This review summarizes the present knowledge about endogenous inhibitors of angiogenesis, including angiostatin, endostatin and thrombospondins, which are found in the body.
