Thin-film CdTe cells: Reducing the CdTe
Victor V. Plotnikov,Xiangxin Liu,Naba R. Paudel,Dohyoung Kwon,Kristopher Wieland,Alvin D. Compaan +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, magnetron sputtering was used for fabrication of very thin polycrystalline thin-film CdTe cells, achieving AM 1.5 efficiency over 13% on 3mm soda-lime glass with commercial TCO and 14% on 1mm aluminosilicate glass.

10% efficiency solar cells with 0.5 µm of CdTe
Victor V. Plotnikov,Dohyoung Kwon,Kristopher Wieland,Alvin D. Compaan +3 more
- 07 Jun 2009
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the results of such an optimization of the fabrication steps of CdS/CdTe solar cells with ultra-thin (below 1µm) absorber layers.

Semitransparent PV windows with sputtered CdS/CdTe thin films
Victor V. Plotnikov,Chad W. Carter,John M. Stayancho,Naba R. Paudel,Hasitha Mahabaduge,Dohyoung Kwon,Corey R. Grice,Alvin D. Compaan +7 more
- 16 Jun 2013
TL;DR: In this article, the use of ultrathin devices based upon CdS/CdTe films augmented with color shifting technologies to meet the requirements of building-integrated or vehicle integrated structures is discussed.

Effects of Cu and CdCl 2 treatment on the stability of sputtered CdS/CdTe solar cells
Naba R. Paudel,Dohyoung Kwon,Matthew Young,Kristopher Wieland,Sally Asher,Alvin D. Compaan +5 more
- 20 Jun 2010
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects on cell stability of the amount of copper in the back contact and the dependence on CdCl 2 activation treatment for sputtered CdS/CdTe cells were studied.
