JNK MAPK Pathway Regulates Constitutive Transcription of CCL5 by Human NK Cells through SP1
TL;DR: EMSA, chromatin immune precipitation, the use of heterologous promoters, and site-directed mutagenesis demonstrated that transcription in NK cells is largely controlled through binding of the transcription factor specificity protein 1 to a region −75 to −56 upstream of the site of transcriptional initiation.
A functional SNP associated with atopic dermatitis controls cell type-specific methylation of the VSTM1 gene locus

TL;DR: Low expression of SIRL-1 on monocytes is associated with an increased risk for the manifestation of an inflammatory skin disease and underlines the role of both the cell subset and this inhibitory immune receptor in maintaining immune homeostasis in the skin.
Systematic characterization of basophil anergy.
Kia Joo Puan,Anand Kumar Andiappan,Bernett Lee,Dilip Kumar,Tuck Siong Lai,Giminna Yeo,Derya Bercin,Mireille Starke,Doreen Haase,Josephine Lum,Fook Tim Chew,John E. Connolly,Siew Cheng Wong,Francesca Zolezzi,Michael Poidinger,De Yun Wang,Olaf Rötzschke +16 more
TL;DR: Cohort studies indicated that in certain individuals the basophils do not respond toward allergens due to a desensitization of their Fc epsilon receptor pathway.

Histone acetylome-wide associations in immune cells from individuals with active Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection

Chandy,Gennaro De Libero,Amit Singhal,Shyam Prabhakar +29 more
TL;DR: A histone acetylome-wide association study (HAWAS) of an infectious disease, on the basis of genome-wide H3K27 acetylation profiling of peripheral blood granulocytes and monocytes from persons with active Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) infection and healthy controls, was described in this article .

FUT6 deficiency compromises basophil function by selectively abrogating their sialyl-Lewis x expression.
Kia Joo Puan,Boris San Luis,Nurhashikin Yusof,Dilip Kumar,Anand Kumar Andiappan,Wendy W. L. Lee,Samanta Cajic,Dragana Vuckovic,Jing De Chan,Tobias Döllner,Han Wei Hou,Yunxuan Jiang,Chao Tian,Erdmann Rapp,Michael Poidinger,De Yun Wang,Nicole Soranzo,Bernett Lee,Olaf Rötzschke +18 more

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that sialyl-Lewis x expression on basophils and mast cell progenitors depends on fucosyltransferase 6 (FUT6).
