Enhanced condensation heat transfer by water/ethanol binary liquids on polydimethylsiloxane brushes
TL;DR: In this article , a small amount of water was added to the phase change process of ethanol on a liquid-like polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) brush surface, and the heat transfer coefficient was significantly enhanced by more than one order of magnitude compared to pure ethanol condensation.

Chemically robust superhydrophobic surfaces with a self‐replenishing nanoscale liquid coating
Xiaoteng Zhou,P.V. Sudersan,Diego Díaz,Benjamin Leibauer,Chirag Hinduja,Fahimeh Darvish,Pravash Bista,Lukas Hauer,Manfred Wagner,Werner Steffen,Jie Li,Michael Kappl,Hans-Jürgen Butt +12 more
TL;DR: Chemically robust superhydrophobic surfaces with a self-replenishing nanoscale liquid coating exhibit high chemical stability and self-healing ability against alkali erosion and O2 plasma exposure.

Self-generated electrostatic forces of drops rebounding from hydrophobic surfaces
Diego Díaz,Xiaomei Li,Pravash Bista,Xiaoteng Zhou,Fahimeh Darvish,Hans-Jürgen Butt,Michael Kappl +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors study the charge separation of drops rebounding from hydrophobic surfaces using high-speed video imaging and the deflection of drops by electric fields and reproducibly detect the amount of charge.

Control of spontaneous charging of sliding water drops by plasma-surface treatment.
Fahimeh Darvish,Sajjad Shumaly,Xiaomei Li,Yun Dong,Diego Díaz,Mohammadreza Khani,Doris Vollmer,Hans-Jürgen Butt +7 more
TL;DR: Low-pressure plasma surface treatment reduces water drop charge and contact angles on various surfaces, but electrode-facing treatment increases drop charge by altering surface chemistry and charge deposition, offering a means to control slide electrification.
