Decreased cardiac mitochondrial NADP+-isocitrate dehydrogenase activity and expression: a marker of oxidative stress in hypertrophy development.
Mohamed Benderdour,Guy Charron,Blandine Comte,Riwa Ayoub,Diane Beaudry,Sylvain Foisy,Denis deBlois,Christine Des Rosiers +7 more
TL;DR: Low cardiac mNADP+-ICDH activity appears to be a relevant early and persistent marker of mitochondrial oxidative stress-related alterations in hypertrophy development and could also contribute to the aetiology of cardiomyopathy.

Regulation of therapeutic apoptosis: a potential target in controlling hypertensive organ damage.
TL;DR: It is proposed that the presence of a cell subpopulation with defective cell cycle regulation may determine organ susceptibility to undergo therapeutic apoptosis and is supported by novel data suggesting that reversal of cardiovascular hyperplasia is associated with reduced cell growth and a resistance to further induction of therapeutic apoptotic.

RGS5, RGS4, and RGS2 expression and aortic contractibility are dynamically co-regulated during aortic banding-induced hypertrophy
Xi Wang,Lawrence D. Adams,Lil Pabon,William M. Mahoney,Diane Beaudry,Jagadambika J. Gunaje,Randolph L. Geary,Denis deBlois,Stephen M. Schwartz +8 more
TL;DR: This study presents the first experimental evidence that changes in RGS expression and function correlate with vascular remodeling, and showed RGS5 inhibits angII-induced signaling in smooth muscle cells.
