Reprogramming macrophage orientation by microRNA 146b targeting transcription factor IRF5
Liang Peng,Hui Zhang,Yuanyuan Hao,Feihong Xu,Jianjun Yang,Ruihua Zhang,Geming Lu,Zihan Zheng,Miao Cui,Chen-Feng Qi,Chun Chen,Juan Wang,Yuan Hu,Di Wang,Susan K. Pierce,Liwu Li,Huabao Xiong +16 more
TL;DR: It is shown that IL-10 and Rag1 double knockout mice spontaneously develop colitis with dominant M1 macrophage phenotype, suggesting thatIL-10 regulates macrophages orientation in inflammation and that miR-146b targets IRF5, resulting in the regulation ofmacrophage activation.

SIRPα maintains macrophage homeostasis by interacting with PTK2B kinase in Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection and through autophagy and necroptosis
Di Wang,Yun Hsiao Lin,Feihong Xu,Hui Zhang,Xiaoyan Zhu,Zhen Li,Yuan Hu,Guanjun Dong,B. Sun,Yanhong Yu,Guo-Gang Ma,Zhigang Yang,Diana Legarda,Adrian T. Ting,Yuan Liu,Jia Hou,Liwei Dong,Huabao Xiong +17 more
TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper showed that SIRPα deficiency enhances the killing ability of macrophages against MTB through processes that involve enhanced autophagy and reduced necroptosis.

Interleukin-1β-induced IRAK1 ubiquitination is required for TH-GM-CSF cell differentiation in T cell-mediated inflammation
Yuan Hu,Feihong Xu,Ruihua Zhang,Diana Legarda,Jun Dai,Di Wang,Heyu Li,Yao Zhang,Qingjie Xue,Guanjun Dong,Hui Zhang,Chang Lu,Arthur Mortha,Jianguo Liu,Paolo Cravedi,Adrian T. Ting,Liwu Li,Chen Feng Qi,Susan K. Pierce,Miriam Merad,Peter S. Heeger,Huabao Xiong,Huabao Xiong +22 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that interleukin (IL)-1β exclusively drives differentiation of naïve CD4+ T cells into TH-GM-CSF cells via inducing ubiquitination of IL-1 receptor-associated kinase 1 (IRAK1) and subsequent activation of the transcription factor NF-kappaB (NF-κB), independent of RAR-related orphan receptor gamma (RORγt) required for TH17 differentiation.
