ZEB1 drives epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition in lung cancer
Jill E. Larsen,Jill E. Larsen,Jill E. Larsen,Vaishnavi Nathan,Jihan K. Osborne,Rebecca K. Farrow,Dhruba Deb,James P. Sullivan,Patrick Dospoy,Alexander Augustyn,Suzie K. Hight,Mitsuo Sato,Luc Girard,Carmen Behrens,Ignacio I. Wistuba,Adi F. Gazdar,Nicholas K. Hayward,John D. Minna +17 more
TL;DR: It is found that Z EB1 causally promotes malignant progression of HBECs and tumorigenicity, invasion, and metastases in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) lines and TGF-β and VDR signaling and CD44 splicing pathways associated with ZEB1 are potential EMT chemoprevention and therapeutic targets in NSCLC.
Cell-autonomous immune gene expression is repressed in pulmonary neuroendocrine cells and small cell lung cancer.
Ling Cai,Hongyu Liu,Hongyu Liu,Fang Huang,Junya Fujimoto,Luc Girard,Jun Chen,Yongwen Li,Yu An Zhang,Dhruba Deb,Victor Stastny,Karine Pozo,Christin S. Kuo,Gaoxiang Jia,Chendong Yang,Wei Zou,Adeeb Alomar,Kenneth E. Huffman,Mahboubeh Papari-Zareei,Lin Yang,Benjamin J. Drapkin,Esra A. Akbay,David S. Shames,Ignacio I. Wistuba,Tao Wang,Jane E. - 09 Mar 2021
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors computed NE scores for patient-derived small cell lung cancer (SCLC) cell lines and xenografts, as well as human tumors, and investigated the different immune phenotypes associated with high and low NE scores.
Understanding Protein Structure from a Percolation Perspective
TL;DR: The role of noncovalent connections at the backbone level and at the detailed side-chain level are investigated, showing simple and higher order percolation behavior distinctly reminiscent of random network models.

2021 global lung cancer therapy landscape.
Dhruba Deb,Amy P. Moore,Upal Roy +2 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a comprehensive list of therapeutic entities (TEs) in preclinical development and clinical trials for lung cancer was curated and analyzed, highlighting a robust portfolio of both preclinical and clinical TEs and suggesting that lung cancer treatment is going to become even more biomarker driven.

A rapid screening platform to coculture bacteria within tumor spheroids
TL;DR: A protocol to selectively grow bacteria within the core of tumor spheroids, allowing for their continuous and parallel profiling in physiologically relevant conditions and will allow the study of bacteria–tumor interactions in a continuous manner and facilitate the rapid development of engineered microbial therapies.
