Moringa oleifera is a valued medicinal plant in traditional folk medicine. Many pharmacological studies have shown the ability of this plant to exhibit analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, anticancer, antioxidant, nootropic, hepatoprotective, gastroprotective, anti-ulcer, cardiovascular, anti-obesity, antiepileptic, antiasthmatic, antidiabetic, anti-urolithiatic, diuretic, local anesthetic, anti-allergic, anthelmintic, wound healing, antimicrobial, immunomodulatory, and antidiarrheal properties. This review is a comprehensive summary of the phytochemical and pharmacological activities as well as the traditional and therapeutic uses of this plant. M. oleifera has wide traditional and pharmacological uses in various pathophysiological conditions. We will review the various properties of M. oleifera (drumstick tree) and focus on its various medicinal properties. We think that it is an attractive subject for further experimental and clinical investigations.

Worldwide occurring Moringa plant is commonly famous as a fruit vegetable, known as drumstick or shevga all over India. The miraculous nutritional potential of the drumstick plant was already proved by worldwide research. But in the common population, it is unknown for the nutritional potential of its leaves. The majority of the population is known it only as a fruit vegetable. The Moringa leaves contain almost all essential nutrients, growth factors, vitamins, amino acids, proteins, minerals, and metals like potassium, iron, and zinc. Besides these, nowadays, plant leaves may be used to prepare various nutritional supplements and medicine.Besides this, this review takes into account some joint efforts of NASI, Allahabad-funded project to use these Moringa leaves for different formulations and its popularization efforts for malnutrition eradication in tribal, i.e., development of recipes of Moringa leaves that will not only make easy preparations but also help to make habitual use of Moringa leaves today.This review describes the morphology, occurrence, and distribution of Moringa sp., chemical constitutions of Moringa leaves, its potential as anticancer, antidiabetes, and antimicrobial agent and as a nutritional supplement and the commercial future of various products.

Heterocyclic compounds are rapidly increasing in number due to extensive synthetic research and also their synthetic utility. Such compounds have a wide range of uses in the field of medicinal chemistry. Dyestuff, sanitizers, corrosion inhibitors, antioxidants, and copolymer synthesis are additional well-known applications. There are always distinguishing characteristics of an efficient approach for producing newly discovered heterocyclic compounds and their moieties. According to prior research, more than 90% of medicines containing heterocyclic compounds have been developed after the obtainment of a thorough scientific grasp of the biological system. It was discovered in the neoteric developments of heterocyclic compounds that these play a vital role in curative chemistry, and exert anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antiallergic, antibacterial, anti-HIV, antiviral, anti-convulsant, and other biological activities. The present article provides detailed information regarding such heterocyclic compounds.

A Review on Medicinally Important Heterocyclic Compounds

Objective: The aim of the present study was to carried out phytochemical analysis of aqueous and ethanolicextract of Moringa oleifera and to find out antifungal property of Moringa oleifera. Methods: Moringa oleifera leaf extracts was used for plant component analysis and for determination of antifungal activity. Saccharomyces cerevisiae (MTCC No.170), Candida albicans (MTCC No.183),Candida tropicalis (MTCC No.1000) strain were used for experimental purpose.Well diffusion method was used to assess the antifungal effect of the extracts on micro-organisms. Results: The phytochemical screening indicated the presence of flavonoids, tannins, steroid, alkaloid, saponins etc., in the both extracts. Antifungal activity of ethanolic and aqueous extract of Moringa oleifera leaf was highly active against Saccharomyces cerevisiae andactive against Candida tropicalis and not showing activity against Candida albicans . Conclusion: The present study conclusively demonstrates that Moringa oleifera is a good source of various phytochemicals like alkaloids, flavonoids, carbohydrates, glycosides, saponins, tannins, Terpenoids. The antifungal activity Moringa Oleifera was clearly shown by the present study against various fungi like Saccharomyces cerevisiae , Candida albicansand Candida tropicalis . All these preliminary reports warrant an in depth analysis of the usefulness of Moringa oleifera as miracle drug against various ailments.

Tinospora cordifolia (T.cordifolia) which is also known as Giloe belongs to the family Menispermaceae. It is an important medicinal plant used in Ayurvedic system of medicine. The stem of the plant is greyish brown-black in colour and bitter in taste. Phytochemical analysis and assessment of in vitro antibacterial activity of Tinospora cordifolia

Complexes of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) were synthesized from Schiff base 2-{[(2-aminophenyl)imino]methyl}phenol and metformin. The authenticity of the transition metal complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, conductance and magnetic susceptibility measurements, as well as spectroscopic (IR, electronic) and thermal studies. IR spectral studies revealed the existence of the ligands in the amine form in the solid state. The magnetic and electronic spectral studies suggest an octahedral geometry for all the complexes. The metformin acts as a bidentate ligand and Schiff base of o-phynelendiamine and salicylaldehyde acts as a tridentate ligand. Antimicrobial screening of the Schiff base, metformin and transition metal complexes were determined against the bacteria Escherichia coli and Bacillus megaterium.

This review focuses on the utilization of some novel methods of activation of the C-H bonds, hydrogen borrowing catalysis, photoredox chemistry, regio- and stereo-selective synthesis, and multicomponent reactions for the functionalization and creation of heterocycles that aided in driving project delivery.

A mini review: recent developments of heterocyclic chemistry in some drug discovery scaffolds synthesis

The temporal trends and preprocedural predictors of emergency coronary artery bypass graft surgery (ECABG) after elective percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the contemporary era are largely unknown. From January 2003 to December 2014 elective hospitalizations with PCI as the primary procedure were extracted from the Nationwide Inpatient Sample. ECABG was identified as CABG within 24 hours of elective PCI. Temporal trends of elective PCI, ECABG, comorbidities, and in-hospital mortality were analyzed. Logistic regression model was used to identify preprocedural independent predictors of ECABG and post-PCI ECABG risk score was developed using the regression coefficients from the logistic regression model in the development cohort. The score was then validated in the validation cohort. Of 1,605,641 elective PCI procedures included in the final analysis, 5,561 (0.3%) patients underwent ECABG. The incidence of ECABG, co-morbidities and overall in-hospital mortality increased over the study period, whereas the in-hospital mortality after ECABG remained unchanged. An increasing trend of elective PCI performed at facilities without on-site CABG was noted, with a higher unadjusted in-hospital mortality in this cohort. ECABG risk score, performed well with a significantly higher risk of ECABG in those patients with a score in the highest tertile compared with those with lower ECABG score (0.6% vs 0.3%, p = 0.0005). In conclusion, an increasing trend of adverse outcomes after elective PCI is observed. We describe an easy-to-use predictive score using preprocedural variables that may allow the operator to triage the patient to an appropriate setting in an effort to improve outcomes.
