Minimum Energy Problem in the Sense of Caputo for Fractional Neutral Evolution Systems in Banach Spaces
TL;DR: In this article , a class of fractional neutral evolution equations on Banach spaces involving Caputo derivatives is investigated and conditions for the controllability of the fractional-order system and for existence of a solution to an optimal control problem of minimum energy are established.
A Computational Approach to Essential and Nonessential Objective Functions in Linear Multicriteria Optimization
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors put together two methods for determining non-essential objective functions using a computer algebra system and a computational implementation is done using a computational simulation system, where the set of efficient solutions is the same both with or without that objective function.

- 01 Jan 2009
TL;DR: A brief historical review of optimal control theory, from its roots in the calculus of variations and the classical theory of control to the present time, giving particular emphasis to the Pontryagin maximum principle is given in this paper.

Symbolic Computation in the Calculus of Variations: Determination of Symmetries and Conservation Laws (in Portuguese)
TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of finding conservation laws in the calculus of variations is reduced to the one of finding the variational symmetries, and the central result is the celebrated Noether's theorem, which links conservation laws with the invariance properties of the problem.
Optimal Control of Nonlocal Thermistor Equations
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the optimal control problem of the nonlocal thermistor problem, i.e., in studying the heat transfer in the resistor device whose electrical conductivity is strongly dependent on the temperature.
