Structure of nicotinic acid mononucleotide adenylyltransferase from Bacillus anthracis
Shanyun Lu,Craig D. Smith,Zhengrong Yang,Pamela S. Pruett,Lisa Nagy,Deborah McCombs,Lawrence J. DeLucas,Wayne J. Brouillette,Christie G. Brouillette +8 more
TL;DR: The crystal structure of Bacillus anthracis NaMNAT was determined by molecular replacement, revealing two dimers per asymmetric unit, and was refined to an R factor and R(free) of 0.3 A resolution, supporting the presence of considerable conformational heterogeneity and flexibility in three loops surrounding the substrate-binding area.

Effect of macromolecular mass transport in microgravity protein crystallization
Arayik Martirosyan,Lawrence J. DeLucas,C. Schmidt,Markus Perbandt,Deborah McCombs,Martin Cox,Christopher D. Radka,Christian Betzel +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of macromolecular transport and the incorporation of protein aggregate impurities in growing crystals was investigated on the International Space Station (ISS) and compared with control experiments performed in a 1G laboratory environment.
Preliminary crystallographic studies of yeast mitochondrial peripheral membrane protein Tim44p.
TL;DR: To investigate the mechanism by which Tim44p functions in the TIM23 translocon to deliver the mitochondrial protein precursors, the yeast Tim 44p was crystallized and structure determination by MAD methods is under way.
