Forest and UAV: a bibliometric review
Filippo Gambella,Luisella Sistu,Davide Piccirilli,Sergio Corposanto,Maria Carmela Caria,Ettore Arcangeletti,Andrea Rosario Proto,Giovanni Chessa,Antonio Luigi Pazzona +8 more
TL;DR: The results comparison show that Web of Science is the best bibliographic database research for the explored thematic; the comparison between the two databases show that WoS is more complete than Scopus.

Integrating the RFID identification system for Charolaise breeding bulls with 3D imaging for virtual archive creation.
Maria Grazia Cappai,Filippo Gambella,Davide Piccirilli,Nicola Graziano Rubiu,Corrado Dimauro,Antonio Luigi Pazzona,Walter Pinna +6 more
TL;DR: A bottom-up approach by way of SWOT analysis of the current morphological and functional evaluation process for bulls revealed a technological gap, and a 3D-Bull model derived from the Structure from Motion algorithm displays a high tech profile for the evaluation of animal morphology in an upgraded system.

Development of a Matlab Code for the Evaluation of Spray Distribution with Water-Sensitive Paper
Luca Ghiani,Alberto Sassu,Davide Piccirilli,Gian Luca Marcialis,Filippo Gambella +4 more
- 12 Sep 2019
TL;DR: The objective of work was to develop a MATLAB code to evaluate the spray distribution over WSPs, and it was possible to assess the number of the drops per cm2, the Normal Median Diameter (NMD) and the Normal Volume D diameter (VMD).

Detection and Monitoring of Alien Weeds Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle in Agricultural Systems in Sardinia (Italy)
Vanessa Lozano,Giuseppe Brundu,Luca Ghiani,Davide Piccirilli,Alberto Sassu,Maria Teresa Tiloca,Luigi Ledda,Filippo Gambella +7 more
- 12 Sep 2019
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated how UAV imagery can be used to assess the cover of Oxalis pes-caprae, present in several crops in Sardinia as an alien invasive weed, with negative direct and indirect effects on the affected crops.

Use of UAVs and Canopy Height Model Applied on a Time Scale in the Vineyard
Luca Ghiani,Alberto Sassu,Vanessa Lozano,Giuseppe Brundu,Davide Piccirilli,Filippo Gambella +5 more
- 12 Sep 2019
TL;DR: The present research describes the development of a methodology for the computation of the volumes through remotely sensed imagery acquired with UAV RGB digital camera, analyzed with MATLAB scripts and ArcGIS, and shows that the volumes obtained are 50% lower than those directly measured in the field (TRV), therefore promoting a limitation of the use of chemicals.
