Combination therapy for Mycoplasma genitalium, and new insights into the utility of parC mutant detection to improve cure.
Lenka A. Vodstrcil,Erica L Plummer,Michael L. Doyle,Gerald L. Murray,Kaveesha Bodiyabadu,Jørgen Skov Jensen,David W. Whiley,Emma L. Sweeney,Deborah A Williamson,Eric P F Chow,Christopher K Fairley,Catriona S. Bradshaw +11 more
TL;DR: Infections that were wildtype for S83/D87 experienced high cure following doxycycline+moxifloxacin, supporting the use of a parC-resistance/susceptibility testing strategy in clinical care.

Whole-Genome Characterization and Genotyping of Global WU Polyomavirus Strains
Seweryn Bialasiewicz,Seweryn Bialasiewicz,Rebecca Rockett,Rebecca Rockett,David W. Whiley,David W. Whiley,Yacine Abed,Tobias Allander,Michael J. Binks,Guy Boivin,Allen C. Cheng,Ju Young Chung,Patricia E. Ferguson,Nicole Gilroy,Amanda J. Leach,Cecilia Lindau,John W. A. Rossen,Tania C. Sorrell,Michael D. Nissen,Michael D. Nissen,Theo P. Sloots,Theo P. Sloots +21 more
TL;DR: Using whole-genome sequencing of 48 WUV strains collected in four continents over a 5-year period and 16 publicly available whole- genome sequences, three main WUV clades and five subtypes are identified and a new, larger genotyping region within the VP2/1 interface was proposed.
Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma urealyticum infections in the immediate post‐lung transplant period: A case series and literature review
Emma L. Sweeney,A F Burke,Bianca Graves,Adam G Stewart,David W. Whiley,Claire Heney,Peter Hopkins,K. C. Chambers +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors report their single-centre experience with M. hominis and U. urealyticum infection after lung transplantation (9 recipients, all men, mean age 56 years).

SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR to Screen for B.1.617.2 (Delta) Variant of Concern
Kym Lowry,Claire Y. T. Wang,Amanda Bordin,Cameron Buckley,Steven G Badman,Patrick Harris,Ian M. Mackay,David W. Whiley +7 more
TL;DR: A rapid in-house RT-PCR assay to target a spike mutation in Delta variants, which is not detected in the remaining variants of concern (VOCs), which has the potential to provide rapid results to determine if the samples are presumptively Delta variants and can support clinicians in timely clinical decision-making for effective treatments and surveillance.
Limited evidence of patient-to-patient transmission of Staphylococcus aureus strains between children with cystic fibrosis, Queensland, Australia
TL;DR: WGS reveals that patients with CF were essentially colonised by the same genotypes as those seen in patients without CF, and indicates that S. aureus acquisition in children with CF is similar to that of other patient groups, with limited evidence of potential patient-to-patient transmission within this patient group.
