Voluntary exercise improves hypothalamic and metabolic function in obese mice.
Brenton Thomas Laing,Khoa Do,Tomoko Matsubara,David W Wert,Michael J Avery,Erin M Langdon,Donghai Zheng,Hu Huang +7 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that voluntary exercise training improves metabolic symptoms induced by HFD, in part through protected POMC-expressing neuron from HFD and enhanced leptin signaling in the hypothalamus that regulates whole-body energy homeostasis.
EphrinA1-Fc attenuates myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury in mice
Augustin DuSablon,Justin Parks,K'Shylah S Whitehurst,Heather K Estes,Robert C Chase,Eleftherios Vlahos,Uma M Sharma,David W Wert,Jitka A. I. Virag +8 more
TL;DR: Reduced injury is due to a combination of adaptive metabolic reprogramming, improved cell survival, and decreased inflammatory cell recruitment, suggesting that ephrinA1-Fc enhances the capacity of the heart to withstand an ischemic insult.
