A user interface for a touch-screen display of a dedicated handheld electronic book reader device is described. The user interface detects human gestures manifest as pressure being applied by a finger or stylus to regions on the touch-screen display. In one implementation, the touch-screen user interface enables a user to turn one or more pages in response to applying a force or pressure to the touch-screen display. In another implementation, the touch-screen user interface is configured to bookmark a page temporarily by applying a pressure to the display, then allowing a user to turn pages to a new page, but reverting back to a previously-displayed page when the pressure is removed. In another implementation, the touch-screen user interface identifies and filters electronic books based on book size and/or a time available to read a book. In another implementation, the touch-screen user interface converts text to speech in response to a user touching the touch-screen display.

A mobile printer comprising a printer body and a printer door is provided. The printer body has a recessed area that is sized to receive a media roll. The media roll has a void interior portion that is sized to receive one or more batteries that provide power to the mobile printer. Further, the printer door is operatively coupled to the printer body. When in an open position, the printer door allows for placement of a media roll from a side of the mobile printer into the recessed area. When closed, however, the media roll is retained in place relative to the printer body and the media from the media roll is captured for printing.

The invention provides a portable communication apparatus capable of minimizing the ink tank incorporated therein and easily and simply printing the data stored therein even while it is carried. For this purpose there is disclosed a configuration incorporating a printing mechanism and adapted to execute ink filling and waste ink collection for the printing mechanism at the battery charging operation of the portable communication apparatus.

The print processor communicates with a mobile phone processor by means of a user-interface integrated circuit. A portable computer assembly is provided. The portable computer assembly comprises a main outer casing and an operable computer system mounted with the outer casing with the computer system being powered by a power source. A cover lid is hingedly connected to the main outer casing with the cover lid being rotatable in a direction generally toward the main outer casing and in a direction generally away from the main outer casing. A display device is mounted within the cover lid for displaying data generated by the computer system. A printer device is securable to the computer system for receiving individual sheets of paper from the paper supply means and printing data received from the computer system upon the individual sheets of paper and a paper feed mechanism feeds at least one sheet of paper into the printer device. A portable telephone is releasably secured to main outer casing and electrically connected to the computer system.

The video recording system comprises a housing and at least one memory storage device for storing video programming mounted within the housing. An internet connection connects each memory storage device to the internet for downloading video programming through the internet connection and storing the downloaded video programming on the memory storage device. In addition, a device for removable recording video programming is provided. The device comprises a read/write removable media drive with read/write removable media receivable within the read/write removable media drive. An internet connection connects the read/write removable media drive to the internet for downloading video programming from the internet and storing the downloaded video programming on the read/write removable media. The stored video programming is then playable on a television.
