Magnetic Resonance Imaging-targeted Biopsy Versus Systematic Biopsy in the Detection of Prostate Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.
Veeru Kasivisvanathan,Armando Stabile,Armando Stabile,Joana B. Neves,Francesco Giganti,Francesco Giganti,Massimo Valerio,Yaalini Shanmugabavan,Keiran D. Clement,Debashis Sarkar,Yiannis Philippou,David Thurtle,Jonathan J Deeks,Jonathan J Deeks,Mark Emberton,Mark Emberton,Yemisi Takwoingi,Yemisi Takwoingi,Caroline M. Moore +18 more
TL;DR: MRI-TB is an attractive alternative diagnostic strategy to systematic biopsy for diagnosing prostate cancer and biopsies targeted to suspicious areas on magnetic resonance imaging were better at detecting prostate cancer that needs to be treated and avoiding the diagnosis of disease that does not need treatment.

Individual prognosis at diagnosis in nonmetastatic prostate cancer: Development and external validation of the PREDICT Prostate multivariable model.
David Thurtle,David Thurtle,David Greenberg,Lui Shiong Lee,Hong H. Huang,Paul D.P. Pharoah,Vincent J. Gnanapragasam,Vincent J. Gnanapragasam +7 more
TL;DR: An individualised prognostic model that contextualises PCa-specific mortality (PCSM) against other cause mortality, and estimates the impact of treatment on survival, and is the first to the authors' knowledge that models potential treatment benefits on overall survival.
Orchidopexy for Testicular Torsion: A Systematic Review of Surgical Technique.
Sacha L. Moore,Ryad Chebbout,Marcus G. Cumberbatch,Jasper Bondad,Luke Forster,Jane Hendry,B. Lamb,Steven MacLennan,Arjun Nambiar,Taimur T. Shah,Vasilis Stavrinides,David Thurtle,Ian Pearce,Veeru Kasivisvanathan,Veeru Kasivisvanathan +14 more
TL;DR: There is limited evidence in favour of any one surgical technique for acute testicular torsion, and the need for an interim consensus on surgical approach is highlighted until robust studies examining the effects of an operative approach on clinical and fertility outcomes are available.

Using prognosis to guide inclusion criteria, define standardised endpoints and stratify follow-up in active surveillance for prostate cancer.
Vincent J. Gnanapragasam,Tristan Barrett,Vineetha Thankapannair,David Thurtle,José Rubio-Briones,J. Domínguez-Escrig,Ola Bratt,Par Statin,Kenneth Muir,Artitaya Lophatananon +9 more
TL;DR: To test whether using disease prognosis can inform a rational approach to active surveillance (AS) for early prostate cancer, a large number of patients with confirmed or suspected prostate cancer have had a positive prognosis for the disease.
Improving the safety and tolerability of local anaesthetic outpatient transperineal prostate biopsies: A pilot study of the CAMbridge PROstate Biopsy (CAMPROBE) method:
TL;DR: In this small pilot study, the CAMPROBE device and method appears to be a safe, simple and well-tolerated out-patient transperineal replacement for TRUSBx.
