Characterization of diamond films deposited on titanium and its alloys
TL;DR: In this article, polycrystalline diamond films were deposited on pure titanium and Ti-6Al-4V in a classical tubular microwave plasma reactor from C-H(-O)-containing gas mixtures, at a temperature in the range 600-900 °C.

Influence of internal diffusion barriers on carbon diffusion in pure titanium and Ti–6Al–4V during diamond deposition
TL;DR: In this article, the influence on carbon diffusion of different intermediate layers, especially tungsten, niobium, titanium nitride and pure titanium previously deposited on titanium alloys by physical vapor deposition (PVD), is reported.

Two-step process for improved diamond deposition on titanium alloys at moderate temperature
TL;DR: In this article, a simple two-step process is reported to deposit diamond coatings on titanium alloys at temperatures equal to or lower than 600 °C. The first step allows to increase the carbon nucleation rate and to deposit a sacrificial layer which contains more than about 25% sp2 carbon.

Tribological study of diamond coatings on titanium alloys
TL;DR: In this paper, the tribological characteristics of PACVD diamond coatings on titanium alloys have been investigated by SEM and Raman spectroscopy, and the surface roughness has been determined by AFM measurements.
HREM and EXELFS investigation of local structure in thin CVD diamond films
TL;DR: In this paper, the intrinsic stacking-fault energy in diamond was determined using high-resolution electron microscopy (HREM) and extended energy loss fine structure spectroscopy (EXELFS).
