Depressive and anxiety disorders in women with HIV infection
Mary F. Morrison,John M. Petitto,Thomas R. Ten Have,David R. Gettes,Margaret S. Chiappini,Anita L. Weber,Priscilla Brinker-Spence,Russell M. Bauer,Steven D. Douglas,Dwight L. Evans +9 more

Association of depression with viral load, CD8 T lymphocytes, and natural killer cells in women with HIV infection.
Dwight L. Evans,Thomas R. Ten Have,Steven D. Douglas,David R. Gettes,Mary F. Morrison,Margaret S. Chiappini,Priscilla Brinker-Spence,Carla Job,Delinda E. Mercer,Yan Lin Wang,Dean G. Cruess,Benoit Dubé,Erik A. Dalen,Tiffany Brown,Russell M. Bauer,John M. Petitto +15 more
TL;DR: Findings provide the first evidence that depression may alter the function of killer lymphocytes in HIV-infected women and suggest that depression might decrease natural killer cell activity and lead to an increase in activated CD8 T lymphocytes and viral load.

Severe life stress as a predictor of early disease progression in HIV infection
Dwight L. Evans,Jane Leserman,Diana O. Perkins,Robert S. Stern,Carol Murphy,Beiyao Zheng,David R. Gettes,Jeffrey A. Longmate,Susan G. Silva,Charles van der Horst,Colin D. Hall,James D. Folds,Robert N. Golden,John M. Petitto +13 more
TL;DR: Evidence is presented that severe life event stress is associated with an increased rate of early HIV disease progression, the first evidence from a prospective research study to do so.

Acute mood and thyroid stimulating hormone effects of transcranial magnetic stimulation in major depression
Martin P. Szuba,John P. O'Reardon,Anil S Rai,Judith Snyder-Kastenberg,Jay D. Amsterdam,David R. Gettes,Eric M. Wassermann,Dwight L. Evans +7 more

Dean G. Cruess,John M. Petitto,Jane Leserman,Steven D. Douglas,David R. Gettes,Thomas R. Ten Have,Dwight L. Evans +6 more
TL;DR: This paper will highlight studies examining the prevalence of depression during HIV infection and review some of the evidence examining the impact of depressive symptoms on immune function and HIV disease progression.
