Introduction to the Thermodynamics of Materials
David R. Gaskell
- 13 Mar 2008
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a series of phase diagrams for binary systems in pressure-temperature-composition space, showing that the behavior of Gases can be modeled as Legendre Transformations.

An introduction to transport phenomena in materials engineering
David R. Gaskell
- 01 Jan 1992
TL;DR: In this article, a new edition of a classic work on how transport phenomena behave in materials and materials systems will provide expanded coverage and up-to-date theory and knowledge from today's research on heat transfer and fluid behavior, with ample examples of practical applications to materials processing and engineering.

Stability Diagram for the System Yba2Cu3O7–x
Jung-Sik Kim,David R. Gaskell +1 more
TL;DR: The dependence of the degree of nonstoichiometry of YBa2Cu307x (123) on temperature and oxygen pressure has been determined by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) in the temperature range 400° to 950°C and the oxygen pressure range 10−6 to 1 atm (1 atm = 105 Pa) as mentioned in this paper.

Solidification of a ternary metal alloy: A comparison of experimental measurements and model predictions in a Pb-Sb-Sn system
TL;DR: In this paper, the Blake-Kozeny model was used to determine the mushy zone permeability in the liquid-solid interaction term of the momentum equations, and three simulations were performed using the permeability constant as a parameter, and measured temperatures and compositions were compared with predictions based on different model constants.
