Development of a TaqMan real-time PCR assay for quantification of airborne conidia of Botrytis squamosa and management of Botrytis leaf blight of onion.
TL;DR: The results demonstrated that this new qPCR assay was reliable for quantifying B. squamosa airborne inoculum in commercial onion fields and that molecular conidia quantification could be used as a component of a risk management system for Botrytis leaf blight.

Development of Real-Time Isothermal Amplification Assays for On-Site Detection of Phytophthora infestans in Potato Leaves
Mélissa Si Ammour,Guillaume J. Bilodeau,David Mathieu Tremblay,Hervé Van der Heyden,Thaer Yaseen,Leonardo Varvaro,Odile Carisse +6 more
TL;DR: Real-time loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) and recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) assays were developed targeting the internal transcribed spacer 2 region of the ribosomal DNA of Phytophthora infestans, the potato late blight causal agent and will contribute to improved late blight diagnosis and early detection of infections and facilitate prompt management decisions.

Sensitivity of Botrytis squamosa to Different Classes of Fungicides
TL;DR: An automated quantitative assay was compared with radial growth on solid media and with dry weight in liquid culture for assaying fungicide sensitivity in Botrytis squamosa, the causal agent of onion leaf blight, and cross-resistance was observed for the two dicarboximide fungicides.

Infection Efficiency of Four Phytophthora infestans Clonal Lineages and DNA-Based Quantification of Sporangia.
Mamadou L. Fall,David Mathieu Tremblay,Mélanie Gobeil-Richard,Julie Couillard,Hélène Rocheleau,Hervé Van der Heyden,Camile André Lévesque,Carole Beaulieu,Odile Carisse +8 more
TL;DR: A sensitive quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) tool was developed to quantify P. infestans airborne sporangia with detection sensitivity of one sporangium and was either similar to, or an improvement on, other published PCR assays.
Management of Botrytis Leaf Blight of Onion: The Québec Experience of 20 Years of Continual Improvement.
TL;DR: The story of BLB management in eastern Canada over a period of two decades is summarized.
