Modifying the built environment: the impact of improved street lighting

TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative study of two cities, Hull and Cardiff, shows some of the results of this experiment, showing that improved street lighting led to higher levels of community safety amongst residents of the two study areas, and that the fact that street lighting had been improved was seen as a positive investment in the two areas which achieved real and recognizable gains.

TL;DR: In this paper, it is shown that the introduction of parental choice has produced a reaction to league tables in a form that widens disparities already present in the educational system, using a case study area in South Wales.
