TL;DR: A framework for generating a trivariate B-spline parametrization of turbine blades from measurement data generated by optical scanners is presented, suitable for numerical simulation via isogeometric analysis, as well as for a fully automatic structured mesh generation with standard finite elements.
Spline surface fitting using normal data and norm-like functions
TL;DR: It is shown that for every mesh size there exists a solution to the resulting optimization problem and optimal convergence is achieved based on an appropriate choice of the weight controlling the relative influence of points and normals.
