After a review of the dominant approaches that have been used to research networked learning, the article focuses on research that has been reported in the management education and learning literature over the period 1999–2002. The authors argue that, to date, despite the rising importance of networked management learning, it is a topic that has not received sufficient attention in the management education research literature. In addition, the methods and approaches used to research networked learning in the management education and learning field have arguably not been consistent with the educational principles and ideas supposedly associated with networked learning. The article concludes by suggesting possible fruitful agendas and approaches for future research and studies of networked management learning.

Researching Networked Management Learning

The rapid growth of Web-based education presents many challenges for educational institutions. Educators are obligated to ascertain that Web-based courses and curricula meet students' needs, while achieving curricular objectives. Performance of second-degree bachelor of science in nursing students enrolled in two course delivery methods (i.e., Web-based and traditional classroom with Web enhancements) was evaluated by comparing mean aggregate final course grades and composite examination scores. In addition, factors that contributed to student satisfaction with the method of course delivery were identified. Students in the Web-based course scored significantly higher on both performance measures, whereas students in the traditional course were more satisfied. These data suggest that Web-based courses and curricula are valid alternatives to the traditional classroom method, and may help reverse today's nursing environment of cyclical shortages and declining nursing school enrollments.

Performance and satisfaction of second-degree BSN students in Web-based and traditional course delivery environments

Purpose – The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is becoming increasingly publicly criticised by the likes of Mintzberg and other management writers. Much of their criticism is based on personal experience and opinion rather than any systematic research, and ready‐made solutions are proposed as alternatives. Tecnologia da educação e cursos de ciências contábeis: modelos colaborativos virtuais.

The purpose of this study is to identify the viewpoints of the candidates of Physical Education and Sports Teachers and Sports Managers; and to examine these viewpoints with respect to sex, class, accommodation of the family, monthly income of the family, computer and internet facilities. Survey method was used to carry out the study. The sample of the study consisted of the students attending Department of Physical Education and Sports at Educational Faculty and Sports Management Department of Physical Education and Sports High School in Sakarya University. In order to gather data, a questionnaire was developed by the researcher and it was applied to 330 students. Several statistical techniques such as frequency, percentage, t-test and ANOVA were used to analyze the data depending on the qualities of the variables. The results of the study indicated that the students think that by the implementation of distance education, global education and equality of opportunity would be succeeded. They also think they should have general skills about computer hardware, software and internet usage in order to take the advantage of distance education. According to the students, providing distance education in practical lessons of the physical education field is almost impossible, because the compensation of the failures in physical movements on time is not possible by distance education.

Perceptions of students on the application of distance education in physical education lessons

This article describes the use of the Internet and the World Wide Web for the asynchronous delivery of MBA coursework. The planning and implementation processes are described, as are resources used to implement content creation and design of the delivery system. A Web committee was created to appraise the need for consultants, set priorities for course development, recommend content design, recommend hardware and software for delivery and student access, and study security for examinations.
