TL;DR: Garnett and Christidis as mentioned in this paper argued that the lack of governance of taxonomy damages conservation efforts, harms the credibility of science, and is costly to society, and pointed out that the scientific community's failure to govern taxonomy threatens the effectiveness of global efforts to halt biodiversity loss.
Physa acuta Draparnaud, 1805 Should be Treated as a Native of North America, Not Europe
TL;DR: The case that P. acuta is a North American native is supported by data suggesting that it may be a native to North America rather than to Europe, where it was first described.

TL;DR: Paracladistics is proposed as a pragmatic synthesis of phylogenetic and evolutionary taxonomy in which true monophyly is distinguished from structural monophylies with historical paraphyly, some structurally paraphyletic groups are retained in the interest of nomenclatorial continuity and stability, and both unranked and suprageneric ranked taxon names are defined phylogenetically.

Phylogenetic analysis of the Lancinae (Gastropoda, Lymnaeidae) with a description of the U.S. federally endangered Banbury Springs lanx.
TL;DR: The federally endangered Banbury Springs lanx is described as a new genus and species, Idaholanx fresti, confirming its distinctiveness and narrow endemicity.
