Fracture toughness of polypropylene-based particulate composites
TL;DR: In this paper, a review on the fracture behavior of polypropylene (PP) based particulate composites is carried out, considering the basic topics and experimental techniques of Fracture Mechanics, the mechanisms of deformation and fracture, and values of fracture toughness for different PP composites prepared with different particle scale size, either micrometric or nanometric.
Mechanical characterization of closed-cell polyolefin foams
TL;DR: In this article, three different experimental techniques (compression experiments at low strain rates, instrumented falling-weight impact tests, and dynamic mechanical analysis) have been used for the mechanical characterization of a collection of crosslinked closed-cell polyolefin foams of different chemical compositions, densities, and type of cellular structure.

Non-isothermal crystallization kinetics and activity of filler in polypropylene/Mg–Al layered double hydroxide nanocomposites
TL;DR: In this article, the non-isothermal crystallization behavior of Mg-Al layered double hydroxide (LDH)/polypropylene (PP) nanocomposites prepared by melt-dispersion was investigated through differential scanning calorimetry and discussed in comparison with that of montmorillonite (MMT)/PP ones.

Influence of the injection moulding parameters on the microstructure and thermal properties of microcellular polyethylene terephthalate glycol foams
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of several representative injection molding parameters on the foam's morphology, apparent density and thermo-mechanical properties of PETG, poly(ethylene terephthalate-co-1,4-cyclohexylene-dimethylene Terephthalates) specimens was analyzed.

Small punch test on the analysis of fracture behaviour of PLA-nanocomposite films
TL;DR: In this paper, the applicability of Small Punch Test (SPT) to the fracture characterisation of polylactide acid reinforced with organic-modified montmorillonite clay, using several weight percentages of nanoclay, was evaluated through comparison of the results obtained by SPT and conventional testing.
