Superconducting granular aluminum resonators resilient to magnetic fields up to 1 Tesla
Kiril Borisov,Dennis Rieger,Patrick Winkel,Fabio Henriques,Francesco Valenti,A. Ionita,M. Wessbecher,Martin Spiecker,Daria Gusenkova,Ioan Pop,Wolfgang Wernsdorfer +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the single photon internal quality factor of grAl microwave resonators exceeds $10^5$ in magnetic fields up to 1T, aligned in-plane to the grAl films.
25
Quantum non-demolition dispersive readout of a superconducting artificial atom using large photon numbers.
Daria Gusenkova,Martin Spiecker,Richard Gebauer,Madita Willsch,Francesco Valenti,Nick Karcher,Lukas Grünhaupt,Ivan Takmakov,Patrick Winkel,Dennis Rieger,Alexey V. Ustinov,Nicolas Roch,Wolfgang Wernsdorfer,Kristel Michielsen,Oliver Sander,Ioan Pop +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured an overall flat dependence of the transition rates between the first two states of a superconducting artificial atom as a function of the circulating photon number in the resonator.
22
Two-level system hyperpolarization using a quantum Szilard engine
Martin Spiecker,P. Paluch,Nicolas Gosling,Niv Drucker,Shlomi Matityahu,Daria Gusenkova,S. Günzler,Dennis Rieger,Ivan Takmakov,Francesco Valenti,Patrick Winkel,Richard Gebauer,Gianluigi Catelani,Alexander Shnirman,Alexey V. Ustinov,Wolfgang Wernsdorfer,Yonatan Cohen,Ioan Pop +17 more

Minimizing the Discrimination Time for Quantum States of an Artificial Atom
Ivan Takmakov,Patrick Winkel,Farshad Foroughi,Farshad Foroughi,Luca Planat,Luca Planat,Daria Gusenkova,Martin Spiecker,Dennis Rieger,Lukas Grünhaupt,Alexey V. Ustinov,Alexey V. Ustinov,Wolfgang Wernsdorfer,Ioan Pop,Nicolas Roch,Nicolas Roch +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors employ this effect over 2 orders of magnitude in readout power, made possible by the unique combination of a dimer-Josephson-junction-array amplifier with a large dynamic range and the fact that the readout of a granular aluminum fluxonium artificial atom remains quantum nondemolition (QND) at relatively large photon numbers.
10
State preparation of a fluxonium qubit with feedback from a custom FPGA-based platform
Richard Gebauer,Nick Karcher,Daria Gusenkova,Martin Spiecker,Lukas Grünhaupt,Ivan Takmakov,Patrick Winkel,Luca Planat,Nicolas Roch,Wolfgang Wernsdorfer,Alexey V. Ustinov,Marc H. Weber,Martin Weides,Ioan Pop,Oliver Sander +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed an integrated control and readout instrument for experiments with superconducting quantum bits (qubits), based on a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) platform.
