Liraglutide Treatment Reduces Endothelial Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress and Insulin Resistance in Patients With Diabetes Mellitus
Rosa Bretón-Romero,Robert M. Weisbrod,Bihua Feng,Monika Holbrook,Darae Ko,Mary Margaret Stathos,Ji-Yao Zhang,Jessica L. Fetterman,Naomi M. Hamburg +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that ER stress contributes to vascular insulin resistance and endothelial dysfunction in patients with diabetes mellitus, and liraglutide is demonstrated to ameliorates ER stress, decreases c‐jun N‐terminal kinase activation and restores insulin‐mediated endothelial nitric oxide synthase activation in endothelial cells from patients with DM.

Gastrointestinal and liver diseases and atrial fibrillation: a review of the literature.
Michelle T. Long,Darae Ko,Lindsay M. Arnold,Ludovic Trinquart,Jason A. Sherer,Sunny-Skye Keppel,Emelia J. Benjamin,Robert H. Helm +7 more
TL;DR: This work reviews the current literature on the bidirectional associations between gastrointestinal and liver diseases and AF and highlights the gaps in knowledge and areas requiring future investigation.

New biomarkers from multiomics approaches: improving risk prediction of atrial fibrillation.
Jelena Kornej,Vanessa A Hanger,Ludovic Trinquart,Darae Ko,Sarah R. Preis,Emelia J. Benjamin,Honghuang Lin +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focus on the studies of multi-omics profiles with AF risk and summarize recent advances in the discovery of novel biomarkers for AF through multiomics studies, and discuss limitations and future directions in risk assessment and discovery of therapeutic targets for AF.
Temporal trends in cause-specific mortality among individuals with newly diagnosed atrial fibrillation in the Framingham Heart Study
Jelena Kornej,Qiuxi Huang,Sarah R. Preis,Steven A. Lubitz,Darae Ko,Joanne M. Murabito,Emelia J. Benjamin,Ludovic Trinquart +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed temporal trends in cause-specific mortality and predictors for cardiovascular (CVD) and non-CVD deaths among participants with incident atrial fibrillation (AF) in the Framingham Heart Study.
P-wave signal-averaged electrocardiography: Reference values, clinical correlates, and heritability in the Framingham Heart Study.
Jelena Kornej,Jared W. Magnani,Sarah R. Preis,Elsayed Z. Soliman,Ludovic Trinquart,Darae Ko,Emelia J. Benjamin,Honghuang Lin +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, P-wave signal-averaged electrocardiography (P-SAECG) quantifies atrial electrical activity, and the authors performed backward elimination regression models to assess associations of clinical factors with each SAECG trait (Pwave [PW] duration, root mean square voltage in terminal 40 ms [RMS40], terminal 30 ms RMS30, terminal 20ms RMS20, RMS PW integral).
