TL;DR: In this paper , the interplay between three adipokines: fatty acid binding proteins type 4, fetuin-A, retinol binding protein type 4 and thyroid hormones was discussed, which shed a new light onto mechanisms underlying atherosclerosis, cardiovascular complications, obesity, insulin resistance and diabetes accompanying thyroid dysfunction.

TL;DR: Hemoglobin concentration and red blood cell counts close to the lower limit of the normal range may enable identification of patients at risk of AKI early after CABG in CPB among individuals with normal preoperative biochemical parameters of renal function.
