Shear Wave Elastography versus Strain Elastography in Diagnosing Parathyroid Adenomas.
TL;DR: Ultrasound elastography is a helpful tool in identifying parathyroid adenomas and a cutoff value below 7 kPa can be used in 2D-SWE, and the strain ratio with the thyroid tissue and muscle tissue is found to be correctly identified.
2D-Shear Wave Elastography in the Evaluation of Parathyroid Lesions in Patients with Hyperparathyroidism.
Ioana Golu,Ioan Sporea,Lavinia Cristina Moleriu,Anca Tudor,Marioara Cornianu,Adrian Vlad,Romulus Timar,Melania Balas,Daniela Amzar,Mihaela Vlad +9 more
TL;DR: A value lower than 12.5 kPa for the mean EI measured by 2D-SWE can be used to confirm that the lesion/nodule is a parathyroid adenoma.
Shear Wave Elastography in Patients with Primary and Secondary Hyperparathyroidism.
Daniela Amzar,Laura Cotoi,Ioan Sporea,Bogdan Timar,Oana Schiller,Adalbert Schiller,Andreea Borlea,Nicusor Gheorghe Pop,Dana Stoian +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the elastographic characteristics of both primary and secondary hyperparathyroidism using shear wave elastography and determined the elasticity index (EI) in the parathyroid, thyroid, and muscle tissue.

The Experience of a Single Tertiary Center Regarding Benign and Malignant Tumors in Acromegalic Patients
Iulia-Ştefania Plotuna,Melania Balas,Ioana Golu,Daniela Amzar,Adrian Vlad,Lavinia Cristina Moleriu,Mihaela Vlad +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the prevalence of benign and malignant tumors in a cohort of acromegalic patients was studied and risk factors or laboratory parameters associated with the occurrence of tumors were identified.

TL;DR: It is determined that an EI below 7 kPa in SWE elastography correctly identifies parathyroid tissue in primary hyperparathyroidism, and that a cut-off value of 9.98 kPa can be used in 2D-SWE to accurately diagnose parathyro disease in secondary hyperparathiroidism.
