Whole-genome sequencing to determine transmission of Neisseria gonorrhoeae: an observational study
Dilrini De Silva,Dilrini De Silva,Joanna Peters,Joanna Peters,Kevin Cole,Kevin Cole,Michelle J Cole,Fiona V Cresswell,Gillian Dean,Jayshree Dave,Daniel Thomas,Kirsty Foster,Alison Waldram,Daniel J. Wilson,Daniel J. Wilson,Xavier Didelot,Yonatan H. Grad,Yonatan H. Grad,Derrick W. Crook,Tim E. A. Peto,Tim E. A. Peto,A. Sarah Walker,A. Sarah Walker,John Paul,John Paul,John Paul,David W Eyre,David W Eyre +27 more
TL;DR: A whole-genome-sequencing-based tool is presented for genomic contact tracing of N gonorrhoeae and demonstrate local, national, and international transmission and to track antimicrobial resistance.
Long-Term Evolution of Premature Coronary Artery Disease
Jean-Philippe Collet,Michel Zeitouni,N Procopi,Jean-Sébastien Hulot,Johanne Silvain,Mathieu Kerneis,Daniel Thomas,Benoit Lattuca,Olivier Barthelemy,Yoan Lavie-Badie,Jean-Baptiste Esteve,Laurent Payot,Delphine Brugier,Izolina Lopes,Abdourahmane Diallo,Eric Vicaut,Gilles Montalescot +16 more
TL;DR: Premature CAD is an aggressive disease despite the currently recommended prevention measures, with high rates of recurrent events and mortality, and ethnicity and concomitant inflammatory disease are associated with poor prognoses, along with insufficient control of risk factors.

The risk of acquiring Q fever on farms: a seroepidemiological study.
Daniel Thomas,L Treweek,Roland L. Salmon,S. M. Kench,T. J. Coleman,D. Meadows,P. Morgan-Capner,E.O. Caul +7 more
TL;DR: The risk of Q fever on livestock farms is related to contact with the farm environment rather than any specific animal exposure, and the absence of an increasing prevalence with age suggests that exposure may occur as clusters in space and time (outbreaks).

TL;DR: This work aims to provide an accessible research platform to determine demographic, socioeconomic and clinical risk factors for infection, morbidity and mortality of CO VID-19, to measure the impact of COVID-19 on healthcare utilisation and long-term health, and to enable the evaluation of natural experiments of policy interventions.

The French Observational Cohort of Usual Smokers (FOCUS) cohort: French smokers perceptions and attitudes towards smoking cessation.
Henri-Jean Aubin,Gérard Peiffer,Anne Stoebner-Delbarre,Eric Vicaut,Yasmine Jeanpetit,Anne Solesse,Geneviève Bonnelye,Daniel Thomas +7 more
TL;DR: Smoking prevalence and smoking cessation attempts rate were lower in this survey than in previous reports, and tobacco-related behaviours and their evolutions according to the changes in the smokers' environments were assessed.
