Interactions of recombinant prions with compounds of therapeutical significance.
Dessislava Georgieva,Daniel Schwark,Martin von Bergen,Lars Redecke,Nicolay Genov,Christian Betzel +5 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the prion aggregates formed in the presence of six compounds have no beta-structure, which is typical of the infectious form, and possess considerably higher alpha-helical content than the normal PrP(C).

Conformational States of the Rapana thomasiana Hemocyanin and Its Substructures Studied by Dynamic Light Scattering and Time-Resolved Fluorescence Spectroscopy
Dessislava Georgieva,Daniel Schwark,Peter Nikolov,Krassimira Idakieva,Katja Parvanova,Karsten Dierks,Nicolay Genov,Christian Betzel +7 more
TL;DR: Dynamic light scattering and time-resolved fluorescence measurements show that the oxygenated and apo-forms of the Rapana thomasiana hemocyanin, its structural subunits RtH1 and RTH2, and those of the functional unit Rt H2e, exist in different conformations.
