Browning capabilities of human primary adipose-derived stromal cells compared to SGBS cells.
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that both SGBS and hASCs, differentiate into brown-like adipocytes, but with differences regarding UCP1 expression and mitochondrial content underlining that media conditions strongly influence the adipocyte phenotype.
Latent TGFβ-binding proteins regulate UCP1 expression and function via TGFβ2.
Daniel Halbgebauer,Julian Roos,Jan-Bernd Funcke,Heike Neubauer,Bradford S. Hamilton,Eric Simon,Ez-Zoubir Amri,Klaus-Michael Debatin,Martin Wabitsch,Pamela Fischer-Posovszky,Daniel Tews +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the latent transforming growth factor beta-binding protein (LTBP) was shown to play an important role in promoting brown adipogenesis by modulating UCP1 expression and mitochondrial oxygen consumption.

In vitro-generated alloantigen-specific Th9 cells mediate antileukemia cytotoxicity in the absence of graft-versus-host disease
Tanja Reisser,Daniel Halbgebauer,Jasmin Scheurer,Linda Wolf,Frank Leithäuser,Niklas Beyersdorf,Pamela Fischer-Posovszky,Klaus-Michael Debatin,Gudrun Strauss +8 more
TL;DR: To clarify the impact of Th9 cells on GVHD induction, an allogeneic CD4-dependent parent→ F1 BMT model with a 50% mismatch for MHC class I and II molecules was used and missing GVhd-inducing capacity of Th 9 cells was confirmed by low levels of GV HD-associated cytokines IFN-γ and TNFα.

CD90 Is Dispensable for White and Beige/Brown Adipocyte Differentiation.
Meike Dahlhaus,Julian Roos,Daniel Engel,Daniel Tews,Daniel Halbgebauer,Jan-Bernd Funcke,Sophie Kiener,Patrick J. Schuler,J Döscher,Thomas K. Hoffmann,Julia Zinngrebe,Markus Rojewski,Hubert Schrezenmeier,Hubert Schrezenmeier,Klaus-Michael Debatin,Martin Wabitsch,Pamela Fischer-Posovszky +16 more
TL;DR: Flow cytometric sorting of human adipose tissue stromal cells, a CRISPR/Cas9 knockout strategy in the human Simpson-Golabi-Behmel syndrome adipocyte model system, as well as a siRNA approach in human approaches supports the hypothesis that CD90 affects brown or white adipogenesis orwhite adipocyte beiging in humans.

Jelly Bombs – Hydrogels as Weapons against Microorganisms
Nicholas Bodenberger,Nicholas Bodenberger,C. Kubiczek,Daniel Halbgebauer,C. Tanzer,N. Pfahler,Frank Rosenau,Frank Rosenau +7 more
- 01 Jan 2017
TL;DR: This chapter will highlight recent advances in the production and application of different types of hydrogels with a strong focus on novel antimicrobial hydrogel systems.
