Purinergic receptor Y 2 (P2Y 2 )- dependent VCAM-1 expression promotes immune cell infiltration in metabolic syndrome
J Merz,Philipp Albrecht,Sunaina von Garlen,Ibrahim Ahmed,Daniel Dimanski,Dennis Wolf,Ingo Hilgendorf,Carmen Härdtner,Katja Grotius,Florian Willecke,Timo Heidt,Heiko Bugger,Natalie Hoppe,Ulrich Kintscher,Constantin von zur Mühlen,Marco Idzko,Christoph Bode,Andreas Zirlik,Andreas Zirlik,Peter Stachon +19 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that interfering with somatic P2Y2 signalling prevents excessive immune cell deposition in diet-induced obesity (DIO), both attenuating adipose tissue inflammation and ameliorating the metabolic phenotype.

P2X4 deficiency reduces atherosclerosis and plaque inflammation in mice
Alexander Peikert,S. König,Dymphie Suchanek,K Rofa,Ibrahim Schäfer,Daniel Dimanski,L Karnbrock,K Bulatova,Juliane Engelmann,Natalie Hoppe,C Wadle,Timo Heidt,P. Albrecht,Sunaina von Garlen,Carmen Härdtner,Ingo Hilgendorf,Dennis Wolf,Constantin von zur Mühlen,Christoph Bode,Andreas Zirlik,Daniel Duerschmied,J Merz,Peter Stachon +22 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors assumed a functional contribution of the ATP-P2X4-axis in atherosclerosis, and found that the activation of the purinergic P2 receptors in low-density lipoprotein receptor-deficient mice was increased by a high cholesterol diet.
