Efficient Lattice Boltzmann Solver for Patient-Specific Radiofrequency Ablation of Hepatic Tumors
Chloé Audigier,Tommaso Mansi,Hervé Delingette,Saikiran Rapaka,Viorel Mihalef,Daniel Carnegie,Emad M. Boctor,Michael A. Choti,Ali Kamen,Nicholas Ayache,Dorin Comaniciu +10 more
TL;DR: A new method to compute the extent of ablation required based on the Lattice Boltzmann Method and patient-specific, pre-operative images is described, allowing near real-time computation.
Open reduction internal fixation versus hemiarthroplasty versus total hip arthroplasty in the elderly: a review of the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database.
Michael A. Fisher,Jarrod D. Matthei,Augustine Obirieze,Gezzer Ortega,Daniel D. Tran,Daniel Carnegie,Patricia L. Turner,Terrence M. Fullum,Marc E. Rankin +8 more
TL;DR: The 30-d postoperative outcomes of THA, HA, and ORIF among patients aged ≥65 y with femoral neck fractures within a national surgical database are described to describe the variation in overall morbidity and mortality after surgery.

Lattice Boltzmann method for fast patient-specific simulation of liver tumor ablation from CT images.
Chloé Audigier,Chloé Audigier,Tommaso Mansi,Hervé Delingette,Saikiran Rapaka,Viorel Mihalef,Puneet Sharma,Daniel Carnegie,Emad M. Boctor,Michael A. Choti,Ali Kamen,Dorin Comaniciu,Nicholas Ayache +12 more
- 22 Sep 2013
TL;DR: A new model of the physical mechanisms involved in RFA of abdominal tumors based on Lattice Boltzmann Method is proposed to predict the extent of ablation given the probe location and the biological parameters to enable RFA planning in clinical settings as it leads to near real-time computation.
Parameter Estimation for Personalization of Liver Tumor Radiofrequency Ablation
Chloé Audigier,Chloé Audigier,Tommaso Mansi,Hervé Delingette,Saikiran Rapaka,Viorel Mihalef,Daniel Carnegie,Emad M. Boctor,Michael A. Choti,Ali Kamen,Dorin Comaniciu,Nicholas Ayache +11 more
- 14 Sep 2014
TL;DR: A framework for patient-specific radiofrequency ablation modeling of multiple lesions in the case of metastatic diseases based upon a computational model of heat diffusion, cellular necrosis and blood flow through vessels and liver which relies on patient images is presented.
Circumcision in the United States: Where Are We?
John D. Robinson,Gezzer Ortega,Jarrod A. Carrol,Aimee N. Townsend,Daniel Carnegie,David Rice,Nelson E. Bennett +6 more
TL;DR: There is a lack of evidence both in favor of and against recommending routine neonatal circumcisions in the United States.
