Performance of Maize (<i>Zea mays</i> L.) and Land Equivalent Ratio under Maize-Groundnut (<i>Arachis hypogea</i> L.) Intercropping System
Kwadwo Gyasi Santo,Fuseini Bawaror Bugilla,Abdul Aziz Khalid,K. Atakora,Muntala Abdulai,Daniel Afreh,P. M. Norshie +6 more
TL;DR: This study investigates the effects of spatial row arrangement and planting time on maize and groundnut intercropping productivity in Ghana, finding significant treatment interactions for shelling percentage and maize grain yield, with optimal yields achieved through concurrent planting and sole maize cultivation.

A Preliminary Evaluation of Variability, Genetic Estimates, and Association among Phenotypic Traits of African Yam Bean Landraces from Ghana
Remember Roger Adjei,Esther Fobi Donkor,Kwadwo Gyasi Santo,Charles Christian Adarkwah,Amanda Sarfo Boateng,Daniel Afreh,Edward Sallah +6 more
TL;DR: A field experiment was conducted at the Research and Teaching Farm, School of Agriculture and Technology (SOAT), University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Dormaa Ahenkro Campus, Ghana, to determine the genetic variability, heritability, genetic advance, and correlation among growth and yield traits of the African yam bean in Ghana as discussed by the authors .
Effects of Different Doses of Nitrogen on Growth and Nitrogen Use Efficiency of Maize (Zea mays L.) in Berekum Municipality of Ghana
Kwadwo Gyasi Santo,Eric Ansu,Abdul Aziz Khalid,Muntala Abdulai,Daniel Afreh,K. Atakora,P. M. Norshie,Samuel Novor +7 more
- 21 May 2024
TL;DR: Effects of different doses of nitrogen on growth and nitrogen use efficiency of maize in Berekum Municipality of Ghana showed that nitrogen application improved growth and nitrogen use efficiency in maize.
Yield and Nitrogen Use Efficiency of Maize (Zea mays L.) Following the Application of Various Nitrogen Sources under Rainfed Conditions in the Bono Region of Ghana

- 06 Jun 2022
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the appropriate source of nitrogen which enhances nitrogen use efficiency and improves maize productivity under rainfed condition, and the experiment consisted of five treatments; control (no fertilizer), NPK 15-15-15 (90 kg N ha-1), urea, poultry manure (4.2 tons ha- 1), and combination of NPK and poultry manure.
