Melatonin improves rice salinity stress tolerance by NADPH oxidase-dependent control of the plasma membrane K+ transporters and K+ homeostasis.
Juan Liu,Juan Liu,Sergey Shabala,Sergey Shabala,Jing Zhang,Guohui Ma,Dandan Chen,Lana Shabala,Fanrong Zeng,Zhong-Hua Chen,Zhong-Hua Chen,Meixue Zhou,Gayatri Venkataraman,Quanzhi Zhao +13 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that melatonin improves salt tolerance in rice by enabling K+ retention in roots, and that the latter process is conferred by melatonin scavenging of hydroxyl radicals and a concurrent OsRBOHF-dependent ROS signaling required to activate stress-responsive genes and increasing the expression of K+ uptake transporters in the root tip.

The Cation/H+ exchanger OsCAX2 is involved in cadmium tolerance and accumulation through vacuolar sequestration in rice
Wenli Zou,Junhui Zhan,Lijun Meng,Yuetong Chen,Dandan Chen,Mingpei Zhang,H. He,Jingguang Chen,Guoyou Ye +8 more
TL;DR: In this article , a member of the rice Cation/H+ exchanger (CAX) family, called OsCAX2, was found to be an important Cd transporter.
Genome-Wide Association Study for Seed Dormancy Using Re-Sequenced Germplasm under Multiple Conditions in Rice
TL;DR: In this article , a population of 195 diverse re-sequenced accessions from 40 countries was evaluated for the seed germination rate (GR) without dormancy breaking (WDB) as a control and under dry heating (DH) and gibberellic acid (GA) treatments, as dormancy-breaking agents to identify QTLs for rice seed dormancy.
