Efektifitas Etnomatematika dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemahaman Matematika

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk etnomatematika yang terdapat pada budaya lokal Kudus, mengembangkan model pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan etnomatematika berbasis budaya lokal Kudus. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan R&D (research and development) dengan model pengembangan Plomp yang terdiri dari tiga fase yaitu fase investigasi awal ( preliminary research), fase pembuatan prototipe ( prototyping phase), dan fase penilaian ( assesment phase) . Adapun uji coba terbatas dilakukan di Yayasan Madrasah Tsanawiyah Qudsiyah Putri. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, validasi, observasi dan angket. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh informasi bahwasanya ditemukan bentuk etnomatematika pada budaya lokal Kudus yang difokuskan pada lokasi masjid dan menara Sunan Kudus yang dalam hal ini hanya diambil pada sisi materi segiempat dan segitiga. Kevalidan lembar kerja siswa sebesar 3,97 berada pada kategori valid. Perangkat pembelajaran memenuhi kriteria praktis dengan rata-rata penilaian B yang berarti dapat digunakan dengan revisi. Sedangkan respon positif siswa terhadap perangkat pembelajaran sebesar 81%.

Pengembangan pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan etnomatematika berbasis budaya lokal kudus

[Bahasa]: Salah satu unsur konkrit yang sangat penting dalam upaya peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia adalah peningkatan mutu pendidikan. Namun kenyataannya guru kurang mengembangkan kreativitas untuk merencanakan, menyiapkan, dan membuat bahan ajar secara matang yang kaya inovasi sehingga menarik bagi siswa. Kebanyakan aktivitas pembelajaran matematika hanya menyajikan permasalahan dan rumus-rumus saja tanpa memperhatikan penanaman konsepnya. Melihat banyaknya CPNS calon guru pada tahun 2019 ini, terdapat peluang untuk merubah sistem belajar di sekolah agar lebih bervariatif. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pemahaman dan pengalaman bagi calon guru tentang pembuatan bahan ajar mengunakan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI) dalam pembelajaran matematika dan mengahasilkan bahan ajar menggunakan konteks kehidupan sehari-hari. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dalam bentuk pelatihan (workshop) yang mengedepankan praktik dengan metode on the job training dimana peserta pelatihan langsung bekerja di bawah bimbingan narasumber. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah produk bahan ajar berupa LKS menggunakan konteks kehidupan sehari-hari yang kemudian dibukukan dan diajukan Hak Ciptanya sehingga dapat digunakan oleh guru sekolah Dasar (SD). Setelah diadakan pelatihan diperoleh bahwa calon guru CPNS 2019 memiliki kemampuan yang sangat baik dan memilki berbagai ide kreatif dalam menyusun bahan ajar dengan konteks kehidupan sehari-hari.

[English]: One of the essential aspects to improve the quality of human resources is to improve the quality of education. But in reality, the teachers are less creative in planning, preparing, and make rich and innovative teaching contents which attract the students. Mostly, mathematics learning activities only present problems and formulas without regard to the inculcation of the concepts. Considering the number of prospective teachers in 2019, there is an opportunity to change the learning approach in schools to be more varied. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide an understanding and experience for prospective teachers about making teaching materials using the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMRI) in learning mathematics and producing teaching materials using the context of everyday life. This community service is carried out in the form of workshops that prioritizes practice, employing the on the job training method in which the training participants directly work under the guidance of experts. The results of this activity are teaching material in the form of student worksheets using the context of daily life which are then recorded and submitted for copyright so that they can be used by elementary school teachers widely. After the training, it was found that pre-service teachers had very good abilities and a variety of creative ideas in compiling teaching materials in the context of daily life.

Collaborative mathematics learning: Developing mathematical communication skills of junior high school students

In principle, the goal of this study is to create a collaborative-based model for managing mathematics learning in the Covid-19 pandemic that is efficient at improving learning output. The specific objectives of the research in this article are to describe (1) collaborative-based learning of mathematics during the Covid-19 pandemic era and (2) independent habituation of junior high school students. The type of this study is research and development. It considers a qualitative ethnographic research design. Math teachers, principals, and students from SMP Negeri 1 Colomadu Karanganyar participated as research subjects. The method of data collection was done by conducting observations and field notes, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique was done inductively. The results of this study are (1) collaborative-based learning of mathematics during the Covid-19 pandemic era, in the paradigm of "students actively construct meaning - teacher as facilitator, students find concepts - teacher facilitates problem solving". That mindset is a change of reflection and action. The management model is carried out in three stages with five provisions. (2) Making students ready to be independent, requiring teachers to be independent, enabling, and building students' abilities, from before to the time of learning. Independent students were based on a strong religion, core character, lifestyle character, respect for others, and the potential to be intelligent, creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial. © 2022 Author(s).

Collaborative mathematics learning model for the Covid-19 pandemic era: Middle school students’ independent habituation

The objectives of this study were to describe the society’s empowerment in improving the quality of the learning media, learning process, and learning assessment in school. This research applied qualitative with ethnography research design. The data were collected by in-depth interview, observation, and documentation; while the data analysis technique used was the interactive analysis. The results of the study showed the following conclusions. (1) In order to gain good quality learning, it is a must to prepare a good learning media. The minimum component in developing the learning media (syllabus and lesson plan) must content the learning objectives, learning material, study source, and learning assessment. (2) The learning process must use various ways to encourage students’ interest and curiosity, including using various methods, using language styles that are not monotonous, asking questions that guide students’ creativity, using multi-method and multimedia, and giving assignments individually and in groups to students. (3) The assessment becomes a very important thing to determine the level of success in the learning that has been done.
