Preparation of Oriented β-Form Poly(l-lactic acid) by Solid-State Coextrusion: Effect of Extrusion Variables
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of extrusion variables, including the extrusion draw ratio (EDR), temperature (Text), and pressure (Pext), on the crystal transformation from the initial α-form to the oriented β-form crystals were studied.

Preparation of oriented β-form poly(L-lactic acid) by solid-state extrusion
Daisuke Sawai,Kazuyo Takahashi,Toshiyuki Imamura,Koh Nakamura,Tetsuo Kanamoto,Suong-Hyu Hyon +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the deformation profile was extensional at a low EDR and transformed to a parabolic shear pattern at a higher EDR, which indicated that the crystal transformation was promoted by shear deformation under a high pressure rather than by extensional deformation.

Effect of annealing on the structure and properties of poly(vinylidene fluoride) β-form films
Koh Nakamura,Daisuke Sawai,Yuuji Watanabe,Daisuke Taguchi,Yoshiyuki Takahashi,Takeo Furukawa,Tetsuo Kanamoto +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, annealing of oriented poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) films consisting of β-crystals was shown to improve the stability of the Young's modulus.

Development of High Ductility and Tensile Properties upon Two-Stage Draw of Ultrahigh Molecular Weight Poly(acrylonitrile)
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the ductility of UHMW-PAN solutions in N,N-dimethylformamide (N,N) by quenching from 100 to 0 °C.

Development of high ductility and tensile properties by a two-stage draw of poly(acrylonitrile): Effect of molecular weight
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated tradrawing of atactic poly(acrylonitrile) (PAN) powders for a Mv series, ranging 8.0 × 104-2.3 × 106.
