Comparisons of genetic algorithms for timetabling problems
TL;DR: Four kinds of genetic algorithms that solve timetabling problems for universities are presented, including the proposed TGA, which evolves two kinds of genotypes, one related to class scheduling, the other related to room allocation, and SA and TS, which implement two methods based on simulated annealing and Tabu search.

A co-evolving timeslot/room assignment genetic algorithm technique for university timetabling
TL;DR: In this paper, a two-phase genetic algorithm (TGA) was proposed to solve timetabling problems for universities, where the first population is related to class scheduling, and the second one is related with room allocation.
