Effects of improved drainage and nitrogen source on yields, nutrient uptake and utilization efficiencies by maize (Zea mays L.) on Vertisols in sub-humid environments
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of drainage, N source and time of application on yields, nutrient uptake and utilization efficiencies by maize grown on Vertisols in sub-humid environments were determined.

Denitrification risks in relation to fertilizer nitrogen losses from vertisols and phaoezems
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of soil moisture content, available carbon, nitrogen rate, and nitrogen source on denitrification in a Vertisol (heavy clay) and a Phaoezem (loam) soil were investigated.

Potential Denitrification: Concept and Conditions of Its Measurement
TL;DR: In this paper, the concept of potential denitrification has been discussed in relation to denitification rate and conditions under which it is determined, and it is proposed that the concept embraces the principle of maximum attainable denitrification rate under optimal conditions within the limitations of natural setting.

Effects of drying method, storage period and carbon: nitrogen ratio on inorganic nitrogen contents of Vertisols
DO Nina,D.O. Sigunga +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of drying method, storage period and C:N ratio on inorganic N contents of tropical Vertisols were determined, which indicated that extraction for mineral N should be done on field moist soil not later than two days after sampling.
