Using near-road observations of CO, NOy, and CO2 to investigate emissions from vehicles: Evidence for an impact of ambient temperature and specific humidity
D. L. Hall,Daniel C. Anderson,Daniel C. Anderson,Cory R. Martin,Xinrong Ren,Xinrong Ren,Ross J. Salawitch,Hao He,Timothy P. Canty,Jennifer C. Hains,Russell R. Dickerson +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used measurements of CO, NOx, carbon dioxide, and meteorological variables collected at a near-road (NR) site along I-95 in Howard County, Maryland, during the cold months of 2016 and 2017, to infer ΔCO/ΔNOx, ΔCO2/ ΔNOx and ΔCO 2/ ΔCO emission ratios from vehicular running exhaust and their sensitivity to temperature and specific humidity.

Methane emissions from the Marcellus Shale in southwestern Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia based on airborne measurements.
Xinrong Ren,Xinrong Ren,D. L. Hall,T. Vinciguerra,Sarah E. Benish,P. Stratton,D. Ahn,J. R. Hansford,Mark Cohen,S. Sahu,Hao He,Courtney D. Grimes,Ross J. Salawitch,Sheryl H. Ehrman,Russell R. Dickerson +14 more
TL;DR: This study suggests that for a 20 year time scale, energy derived from the combustion of natural gas extracted from this region will require further controls before it can exert a net climate benefit compared to coal.

TL;DR: In this article, mass balance experiments were conducted around the Washington, D.C.-Baltimore area using research aircraft from Purdue University and the University of Maryland to quantify emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx = NO + NO2) and carbon monoxide (CO).
Impacts of large-scale circulation on urban ambient concentrations of gaseous elemental mercury in New York, USA
TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of large-scale circulation on urban gaseous elemental mercury (GEM) was investigated through analysis of 2008-2015 measurement data from an urban site in New York City (NYC), New York, USA.
