Minimal residual disease detection in childhood precursor-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia: relation to other risk factors. A Children's Oncology Group study.
Michael J. Borowitz,D. J. Pullen,J J Shuster,J J Shuster,David S. Viswanatha,K D Montgomery,Cheryl L. Willman,Bruce M. Camitta +7 more
TL;DR: The results show that MRD correlates with conventional measures of slow early response, however, the high frequency of MRD positivity in favorable trisomy patients suggests that the clinical significance of MRd positivity at the end of induction may not be the same in all patient groups.

Glucocorticoid receptors in immunological subtypes of childhood acute lymphocytic leukemia cells: a Pediatric Oncology Group Study.
Fauzia F. Quddus,Brigid G. Leventhal,James M. Boyett,D. J. Pullen,William M. Crist,Michael J. Borowitz +5 more
TL;DR: Each immunological subtype has characteristic receptor distribution and high receptor number within the null group is associated with the ability of the patient to achieve remission; however, the range of values within each patient group is too broad to use this assay as a predictor of response for any individual patient.

The non-random dic(9;12) translocation in acute lymphoblastic leukemia is associated with B-progenitor phenotype and an excellent prognosis.
Hazem Mahmoud,Andrew J. Carroll,Frederick G. Behm,Susana C. Raimondi,J. Schuster,Michael J. Borowitz,Vita J. Land,D. J. Pullen,Teresa J. Vietti,William M. Crist +9 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest that the dic(9;12) is a recurrent chromosomal translocation in pediatric ALL, occurs exclusively in B-progenitor ALL, and unlike other non-random translocations, is associated with an excellent prognosis.

Transitional Pre-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia of childhood is associated with favorable prognostic clinical features and an excellent outcome : a pediatric oncology group study
M. Koehler,Frederick G. Behm,Jonathan J. Shuster,W M Crist,Michael J. Borowitz,A T Look,David R. Head,Andrew J. Carroll,Vita J. Land,P. Steuber,D. J. Pullen +10 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that patients with transitional pre-B ALL have a very favorable prognosis in the context of the therapy used in this study.

T Cell receptor gene rearrangements in B-precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia correlate with age and the stage of B cell differentiation
Nuss R,Geoffrey R. Kitchingman,Cross A,Theodore F. Zipf,Antoun Gr,Bernstein I,Frederick G. Behm,D. J. Pullen,W M Crist,J. Mirro +9 more
TL;DR: The finding of no TCR rearranged gene in CALLA- ALL and a decreased number of gamma-TCR rearrangements in CALLa+ cases under the age of 2 suggest that age may affect TCR gene rearrangement in lymphoblasts.
